Can I apply the Goodsmith myself?
Fitting our Klebebeschlag is very simple.
Nevertheless, we recommend having bonding systems fitted by a hoof care professional.
Here is a map of professionals, who are already using our products.
However, there are also situations where no professional is available, or the rider has trained themselves.
In these cases we are of course happy to support you!
Is the adhesive safe for the hoof horn?
The XT-40 instant adhesive originates from human medicine and is absolutely safe for the hoof. The adhesive has no harmful effect on the hoof wall and remains so superficial that it does not penetrate living tissue. Many customers with extreme cases have been working with our bonding system for years.
Does it also hold in mud & wet conditions?
Mud, slush and water are no problem for the Goodsmith!
However: the hoof must be clean for gluing! That means no dirt, mud or grease on the hoof before it is glued. The hoof is sanded and then degreased before gluing. Moisture itself does not affect our adhesive.
In addition, the bonding area can be reinforced with our XT filler (for particularly demanding use).
How many applications does the adhesive last for?
Our adhesive is particularly economical & should always be applied sparingly for optimal bonding strength.
Normally, at least 12 hooves can be easily bonded with one bottle.
Can the Goodsmith be used in sports?
Yes! There are already numerous professional show riders who rely on our system long-term. The use of studs & spikes is possible. Natural hoof movement is allowed, which has been shown to significantly delay signs of fatigue – e.g. in endurance riding. Thanks to the low weight & optimal grip properties, many riders report improved performance.
The Goodsmith glue-on shoe also has an official LPO competition approval!

Can the Goodsmith also be used for rehabilitation purposes?
Yes! Many of our customers first hear about us because they need a REHA shoeing. The Goodsmith offers numerous options to address challenging hoof situations.
The base plate can be individually adjusted to the horse's needs. Using wedges, pads or similar is no problem. Modifications such as a floating toe can also be incorporated.
The hoof-friendly attachment with a one-component adhesive system makes it possible to apply a shoeing solution even when nailing is no longer an option.

Our XT40 super glue is optimally tuned to the hoof. It sets within a few seconds – whether it's snowing, raining or the sun is shining.
It is extremely gentle on the hoof, and just a few drops per tab are enough to ensure a reliable bond.

Combined with the XT40 instant adhesive, the XT-Filler is ideal for sealing gaps when bonding our Perma XT tabs. This prevents long grass from getting caught in any edges.
When it has to be quicker
The XT Activator
Our XT activator spray ensures even faster adhesive curing. When even a few seconds of pressing the tabs feels too long, our activator comes into play. A short spray and the adhesive is set.
