The Goodsmith Klebebeschlag in case of arthrosis

1 Min. Lesezeit

I got my now 30-year-old Lipizzaner mare at the time as a 5-year-old from a stud farm in Slovenia. We have also been able to enjoy 2 foals.

The mare most likely has arthrosis in the front legs. However, this finding was not confirmed by the vet. She always had iron shoes, but shoeing is no longer possible due to pain. For a while before the glue-on she went barefoot, but was very sensitive in this state. We therefore tried the Klebebeschlag with our hoof care professional Christian, whom we already knew before the glue-on.

Klebebeschlag in case of arthrosis

Even though she had become sensitive due to the arthrosis, we noticed a clear improvement in the gait pattern.

The mare spends her retirement in the open stable on pebble stones, mud, gravel and also has access to a pasture when the weather is good. Due to the ground conditions I have a bit of a hard time cleaning out the hooves in the heel area. She has now been walking with the glue-on for 1 ½ years.

My best experiences are with the durability. The glue-on lasts an enormously long time, even under the conditions in the open stable.
