My path to the hoof

Hi, I'm Lena. I worked as a veterinary assistant in an equine clinic for seven years. There I saw early on how many horses develop problems with their musculoskeletal system — and so I became more and more interested in the topic of hooves. I have four horses myself and gradually took further training.

From my grandfather to nail-free shoeing

My grandpa trained as a farrier back in the day and often told me how it was done in the past — shoeing horses for fieldwork, where they had to work long hours and stay active. When I told him I wanted to learn alternative hoof shoeing methods, he was quite enthusiastic: really, one shouldn't be nailing anymore, he said, if there are good alternatives. So alongside my work at the clinic, I completed my training in hoof care and hoof technology.

How I came to Goodsmith

I first came across Goodsmith in 2018 — initially on "Die Höhle der Löwen" (the German version of Shark Tank). I followed up, did more research, and then attended a training session at Goodsmith. That's how I decided to work with the product — and I've stuck with it because I'm truly satisfied and have seen the results for myself.
