Goodsmith Adapts Perfectly
My horse Lomex is an 18-year-old German sport horse. He is 175 cm tall and weighs about 720 kg. Since this year he has been in an open stable with four other geldings, whereby he has been living in an open stable since 2017 and has gone barefoot since then.

I took him over with a tendon injury at the front left. On this hoof he also has a slight club foot. He has very narrow, steep hooves and yet very thin soles. I have been doing the hoof trimming myself for several years after a great deal of training, which finally means we have fewer problems, because I can correct things myself and immediately at any time. For rides we used hoof boots, which unfortunately is not optimal in terms of the breakover point.
I came across Goodsmith because he had a hoof injury in the summer and needed permanent hoof protection. Since I am not convinced by the classic shoeing due to its rigidity and the lack of hoof function, I looked for a Klebebeschlag that could be adapted to the extremely narrow hoof shape.
With support from a hoof care professional friend, we attached Goodsmith to all four hooves. At the beginning I struggled with attaching the tabs, but a good phone call with Goodsmith quickly solved that.
With the Goodsmith he walks as if on clouds – no lameness, no sensitive stepping. When the snow came, we had to remove the glue-on because snow was building up. Since the injury had also healed completely, I did without a new glue-on with snow rim. Currently we are therefore using hoof boots again for rides. In spring I will, however, apply the Goodsmith again, since it has convinced me a great deal, they hold great and he really walks super with them.

I am an absolute Goodsmith fan. The system works perfectly, my horse walks great, the surfaces (except maybe snow, but I am missing experience with a snow rim there) don't matter. The application also works super, and I can adapt the plates one hundred percent to the special hoof shape. Thanks to the flexibility the natural hoof function is preserved.
Keep it up, Goodsmith, and I am looking forward to your further developments. A hoof boot to adjust just as perfectly would be great, for example...;)
