The Goodsmiths Saved My Horse!

My mare unfortunately battled with constantly recurring coffin bone inflammations on the front right for 1.5 years, whose cause the treating veterinarians and the equine clinic involved could not explain. Constant vet and clinic visits, as well as box rest and medical treatments followed. The shoeing was adjusted and changed multiple times, until coincidence finally led me to a hoof trimmer who recommended the Goodsmith glue-on shoe. Honestly, I was somewhat skeptical at first whether it could work, but I decided to try it. At the time of the first gluing, the mare was clearly lame and under veterinary treatment. Due to the Corona crisis, there were also major problems obtaining the needed medications for her and the situation seemed hopeless. After the Goodsmiths were attached to the hoof, a brief gait test followed – the result: horse lame-free! Since then, nothing else goes on my horse's hooves, because with the Goodsmiths there have been no more problems with coffin bone inflammations and lameness.

She still goes barefoot behind, with closed Goodsmiths with a set-back breakover point in front (custom-fitted to her on site).

The horse walks more securely on all surfaces with the Goodsmiths and has been completely lame-free for a year. The constant coffin bone tip inflammations are history. The horse is fully loaded again and ridden competitively in dressage. The Goodsmiths easily withstand pasture as well as gravel and tar roads on trails. Very good durability!

The Goodsmiths saved my horse! With the inflammation subsiding, the bone was fully preserved and after 1.5 years of drama, the horse can now lead a fulfilled, pain-free life again as a fully rideable horse. The durability also convinced us – so far nothing has come loose even in the worst muddy weather and playing in the pasture. My mare has also benefited from the better grip compared to regular horseshoes.
