From a chronic hoof problem to a solution: where Goodsmith hoof protection makes the difference

2 Min. Lesezeit

My 8-year-old Noriker gelding has always had very poor hoof material and we have been trying for years to get this under control.
For many years he ran only with hoof boots, because it was impossible to shoe him with iron. Going barefoot, however, only worked moderately, even when he was just in the field.

At the beginning of the year his hooves looked great and he got iron shoes. 4 weeks later the same problem as for years: hoof quality deteriorated drastically. So the irons came off again, boots on for the time being, and I scoured the internet for alternatives.

During my research I came across Goodsmith and was immediately excited to try it, because I simply did not know what else to do.
The glue-on has been on for a few days now and I am curious how it will hold up to the temperament and strength of my big boy.

Hoof protection with Klebebeschlag
For now I have applied the glue-on only to the front hooves. By now both of my coldbloods are running with them. My big one has arthrosis and somewhat deformed hooves due to a relieving posture.
Soon I would also like to glue the rear hooves.

After a few days of getting used to it, my boys are running great again and putting the glue-on through its paces in the pasture and at work.
I am curious to see how it will continue to hold.

I am full of hope, because for my Noriker it is really the only solution to find a suitable and lasting hoof protection.
