4 Hooves Equipped with Goodsmith

Merlin is a 7-year-old Warmblood. He lives with 5 boys in an open stable shared living arrangement with mixed surfaces and 12 hours of pasture in summer. In recent years, he always had poor hoof growth regardless of the season; the sole is quite thin and the front heels are slightly underrun. He doesn't walk footsore, but I had long felt that he needed support, and to correct the hoof position, we need "more material." On trails, we used hoof boots, but the gait wasn't optimal with them and the wear in the open stable is also too heavy.

We applied the Goodsmiths on all four hooves, initially with a different tab system, but that only lasted a few days on all hooves because the bridge between the weld seam and adhesive surface always tore. After consultation and great support from Goodsmith, we tried the Perma XT tabs and now the glue-on shoe holds rock-solid on the front – we're still fine-tuning the hind, as the tabs came loose from the hoof there. However, nothing tore, which is already progress :)

My horse walks noticeably more relaxed from the very first minute with the Goodsmith plates and can release tension faster. On trails, he doesn't slip with the shoes and the wear is really minimal after 4 weeks!! I can definitely reuse the plates.

The gait is really great, the wear so minimal that the plates can be used sustainably. The tabs hold very well and can be reused. With twisting hooves (hind), the tab did come loose from the hoof, but the weld definitely held.
