Healthy movement begins at the hoof

Protection that allows movement.

As natural as possible

Protection that allows movement.

The hoof is active with every step – it absorbs load, distributes forces and cushions load peaks. Rigid hoof protection systems can restrict this natural function. Our flexible base plate is designed so that the hoof can continue to compensate for unevenness. This helps to avoid unnecessary strain on tendons and joints.

What we stand for

Natural movement

Our hoof protection solutions work with the horse, not against it. They allow natural rolling and movement – for healthy hooves and a horse that can move freely and unburdened.

What we stand for

Targeted protection

Whether sensitive sole, susceptibility to laminitis or generally stressed hooves - our hoof protection works exactly where your horse needs support. Thoughtfully engineered to protect without restricting hoof mechanics.

What we stand for

Individually customizable

Every hoof is different. Our glue-on horseshoes and hoof protection products can be precisely adapted to hoof shape, conformation and need – for a tailored fit that really sits.

How long does the Goodsmith glue-on horseshoe last

Our Klebebeschlag is in no way inferior to the classic horseshoe. The usual trimming interval is between 4 and 8 weeks. The base plates can typically be reused for 2 to 3 shoeing periods.

Is the adhesive safe for the hoof horn?

The XT-40 instant adhesive originates from human medicine and is absolutely safe for the hoof. The adhesive has no harmful effect on the hoof wall and remains so superficial that it does not penetrate living tissue. Many customers with extreme cases have been working with our bonding system for years.

Is the Goodsmith also suitable for sports?

Yes! There are already numerous professional show riders who rely on our system long-term. The use of studs & spikes is possible. Natural hoof movement is allowed, which has been shown to significantly delay signs of fatigue – e.g. in endurance riding. Thanks to the low weight & optimal grip properties, many riders report improved performance.

The Goodsmith glue-on shoe also has an official LPO competition approval!

Are you a professional show rider? Then get in touch – we are happy to advise and always open to collaborations.

Does the glue-on shoe also hold up for horses in open stables and in wet and muddy conditions?

Yes, the Goodsmith glue-on shoe is ideally suited for keeping in open stables.
It also holds in changing ground conditions – from dry sand to muddy surfaces.

Mud, slush and water are no problem for the Goodsmith!

The hoof must be clean for gluing. That means no dirt, mud or grease on the hoof before it is glued. The hoof is sanded and then degreased before gluing. Moisture itself does not affect our adhesive.

Can I also use the glue-on horseshoes in combination with studs?

Yes! Studs can easily be used with our Klebebeschläge.

Here you'll find a tutorial video that walks you through every step of stud installation.

Is the Goodsmith suitable for rehab purposes?

Yes! The Goodsmith offers numerous options to address difficult hoof situations.

The base plate can be individually adjusted to specific needs. We also have a special rehab base plate in our range. The use of wedges, padding or similar is easily possible. In addition, modifications such as a floating toe can be incorporated.

Here you'll find all our orthopaedic products.

Hoof-friendly application with a 1-component adhesive system makes attaching a shoe possible even when nailing is no longer an option.

Please note: For orthopaedic problems, a qualified professional (e.g. vet or hoof care specialist) should always be consulted, as self-application or experimentation can significantly increase the risk of incorrect treatment and possible consequential damage.

Can I fit the Goodsmith hoof boot myself?

Fitting our hoof boot is not difficult.

However, we recommend having the hoof boot fitted by a hoof care specialist.

Here is a map with specialists, who already use our products.

However, there are situations where no specialist is available, or the rider has trained themselves.

In those cases we are of course happy to help!

Can the hoof boot be worn permanently?

Our hoof boot is not designed for permanent attachment to the hoof. If your horse needs permanent hoof protection, our glue-on shoe is the right choice instead.

For therapeutic purposes it is possible to leave the hoof boot on for longer periods. However, this should always be coordinated with the treating vet or farrier.

Does the hoof boot work on rotating hooves?

Normally, yes. Because the hoof boot is custom-fitted to the horse's hoof, your horse has a secure hold in the boot, even with turning movements. The boot can additionally be reinforced with spikes to minimise abrasion on the base plate.

Can I use the hoof boot with a club foot?

In normal cases, yes. Because the hoof boot is custom-fitted to the horse's hoof, it can also be used on a club foot. Since the hoof sits more upright in the boot, you should make sure the front straps are buckled so the pressure is distributed across the whole hoof and not only on the top strap.

For a detailed assessment, you are also welcome to send us pictures of the hooves.

Can the hoof boot also be combined with the rehab base plate?

In principle, the Hufschuh can be combined with all of our plates.

It depends on which hoof condition your horse has. The Reha plate is significantly more stable and firmer, gives more hold and also keeps the hoof capsule more still. Accordingly, with the Reha plate the horse no longer has the natural barefoot feel and is somewhat more restricted in movement. Reha products are usually used as part of therapy. For example, when the hoof needs to be kept still for a certain period. The Hufschuh should not, however, be worn 24/7. That means, e.g. with an acute laminitis flare-up, it is rather uncomfortable for the horse to switch from the feel of walking in the shoe back to the barefoot feel when the shoe is removed.

We strongly advise you to discuss your situation with your treating vet or hoof trimmer.
