Duplicate Charge

Updated on 10/13/2026

In short

An apparent double charge is often just a pre-authorisation that disappears automatically after a few days, so wait 2–3 working days. If after 3–5 working days you still see two final charges for the same order, contact us with your order number and a screenshot, and we will refund the overpaid amount.

Possible causes of a duplicate charge

  1. Multiple payment attempts at checkout

    • If the first attempt appears to fail and you try again, an authorization may still have gone through in the background.
  2. Reservation vs. final charge

    • Some banks initially show reservations (e.g. “card charged”) that are later released again if a payment was not completed.
    • This looks like a duplicate charge in the short term, but is usually corrected automatically after a few days.
  3. Technical error at the payment provider

    • In rare cases, a payment is accidentally processed twice.

How to check whether you were really charged twice

  1. Check your order confirmation

    • Check how many order confirmations you actually received (email confirmations).
  2. Look closely at your bank statement

    • Is it really two final charges, or one charge plus a “pending reservation”?
    • Pending reservations usually disappear automatically after a few days.
  3. Wait 2–3 business days

    • If a charge is only pending, it is often released again during this time.

When you should contact our support

Please get in touch with us if:

  • after 3–5 business days two final charges are still visible for the same order, or
  • you received only one order but were charged twice.

Please send us:

  • your order number(s)
  • a screenshot or a summary of the charges in question (with date, amount, last digits of the card, etc.)

We will review the case together with our payment provider. If a duplicate charge is confirmed, we will of course promptly issue a refund of the amount overpaid using the same payment method.

Note

  • Depending on your bank, it may take a few business days after the refund is issued before the amount is visible in your account again.
  • A credit is always issued to the original payment method used.
