Goodsmith bonding workshop for farriers, farriers and veterinarians in 9063 Stuttern near Klagenfurt

Headed by hoof carer and bonding specialist Harald Blassnig.

On November 13, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In the workshop, in addition to a theoretical part, the focus is primarily on practice. This means; Adjusting, welding and gluing until the handles fit. Both "dry running" and sticking to the hoof are covered.

COVID: Unless otherwise noted, the 3G Corona rules apply. Corresponding proof must be provided on the day of the workshop.

Procedure:

Theory

• Why plastic?
• Why glue?
• For which horses is the Goodsmith suitable?
• What tool do I need for gluing?
• How is the hoof prepared?
• How is the baseplate adjusted?
• How are tabs positioned?
• What should you watch out for in special cases (deer, buck hoof,...)?

Practice 1

• Each participant works with Goodsmith material
  
• Both adapting the base plate and welding can be practiced and perfected "until you drop"

• Sticking to the hoof
  
• Each participant gets the opportunity to glue a hoof independently but with supervision.
